It’s Just Your Thing.

Nobody knows why you do the things you do. Nobody knows why your going the route that your going. Nobody knows why your you but you. What I’ve learned through my 16 almost 17 years of living is that everybody has their own thing. Nobody is mean’t to be the same. Everything that you do…it’s just your thing.

Do you believe in the power of God? Lol.

Not to be your pastor or anything. It’s just he has a plan for all of us and that’s just what I like to live by. Whatever happens was mean’t to happen the way it did, no matter how crazy.

I SAID WHAT I SAID AND I MEAN’T WHAT I SAID! (If it feels like I’m being loud I am)

Stop letting others influence your life. (What your peers don’t want you to know, lol)

Listen I want you to say your name out loud real quick. Did you hear that? Yeah that’s you. You’re your on person. You aren’t your friend Tasha, Jerald, Lacey, or Chris. You are yourself. Now let’s get into the real tea here. You aren’t special! Nope, not to the people around you. Yes, I said what I said. Don’t expect anything from anybody because they don’t owe you ANYTHING!

You ever notice when someone is doing good, they tell someone their blessings and then the “friend” doesn’t give props where props are due. Well this person is called one of the 7 deadly sins…ENVY. Imagine that but in a deep voice or something with some dark music in the back. I can’t stress this enough not everybody wants to see you winning. Some people are around to bring you down.

So your probably wondering “what does this have to with influence though?”. Dang, be patient I’m here already! This is to deal with influence because people who aren’t happy with themselves like to bring others down through the power of influence. You read that, you wanna read that again or what?

Say your at a party, right. You don’t smoke, drink, have sex with randoms…etc. You just like to have a good time and be with the people you enjoy. Well there’s that ONE friend. The ONE who does all those things. Their the ONE who wants you to go stupid and go crazy with them. If you are comfortable with who you are and they still want you to change and do the things they do, it’s time to wake up and smell the trash. That’s not your friend sweetie. A real friend would understand the person that you are and let you do you and them, them. But, most people who aren’t happy with the way their living love to bring others into the mix of their lifestyle so they don’t feel like a mess by themself.

That’s why I say it’s important to love yourself. When you love yourself, nothing that anybody is doing can make you feel some type of way. If you don’t like to go out then you don’t like to go out. If you don’t like drinking then that’s you. No sex? Cool, that’s all you. Quit looking at other people’s lives thinking you have to be like them.

Well I’m done here. But I’m going to say this EACH blog I write because it’s what I live by. Here it is.

I SAID WHAT I SAID AND I MEAN’T WHAT I SAID!

What I want you to know about this blog. (And about me)

Yes, I’m here to give you the reality of life it’s self.

And no, there is no negativity. Just the TRUTH!

Well since I’m here let me introduce my fabulous self!

My real name is Aaliyah. y’all see where I got the Lili from? I started this blog just to give my two cents that’s not needed but provided to you. I’m going into my senior year of high school and it has taken me this long to create something that I always wanted to do. How sad. But that’s neither here nor there.

Let’s get into me and why I’m here. ( I hate talking about myself, is this some type of first date or something?) I’ve always been the type of person to give the real, regardless of how painful it is to hear. That’s why I love who I am. I’m not afraid of the truth because truth is the only safe ground to stand on. Well that’s what I heard in that movie. I just want to give you some tips to improve and live a life of peace and help you all realize that life treats you but it can also beat ya…not unless you beat it first.

Introduce Yourself (Example Post)

This is an example post, originally published as part of Blogging University. Enroll in one of our ten programs, and start your blog right.

You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.

Why do this?

  • Because it gives new readers context. What are you about? Why should they read your blog?
  • Because it will help you focus you own ideas about your blog and what you’d like to do with it.

The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.

To help you get started, here are a few questions:

  • Why are you blogging publicly, rather than keeping a personal journal?
  • What topics do you think you’ll write about?
  • Who would you love to connect with via your blog?
  • If you blog successfully throughout the next year, what would you hope to have accomplished?

You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.

Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.

When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
